They are well known all over the world, they appear in computer games or virtual worlds, but since Second Life they gained celebrity status - avatars. Avatars are virtual representations of real persons who act in the Computer World either in form of three dimensional figures in games or two dimensional pictures used in Internet forums.
Speechagents.com uses the concept of avatars in a new way, as presenters on websites. The avatars are animated talking characters, as the name indicates animated representations of real persons who are able to speak.
Speechagents offers these animations for free on their website, the user can choose from 9 different characters and various backgrounds.
After specifying the looks of your virtual character, you can provide the text, which should be spoken on your website. The smallest package, which is free of charge, allows for a spoken text up to 600 signs. Just insert your text in the small text box and finalize your character by generating the code block. In the last step you have to insert the code into your website’s source code to get your character operating.
If you pay a fee of $7.95 monthly ($79.50 per year) you get a complete service package, including unlimited characters, unlimited streams, e-mail support and ad-free characters.
