Augmented Reality is a term that describes the merging of real world elements with virtual computer generated imagery. The augmentation is usually in real-time, as for example seen in sports matches on TV (yellow “first down” line in American Football).
Newer inventions using this technique are, for example, head mounted displays or modern travel guides on various smartphones.
It is not only used in computer games, but also in everyday life situations, like in your car, phone or in a museum exhibition.
