Greenscreen is the technical denotation for a film production in front of a green background or inside a green box. Like bluescreen (see), greenscreen recordings offer the possibility to key out the background and compose different footage material together.
Bluescreen is the older technique and mostly outrun by greenscreen today. Greenscreen presents several advantages for modern filming: digital cameras are more sensitive to green, and less light is needed to illuminate a green surrounding.
