ECards enjoy increasing popularity in the Net. The electronic postcards are available with different pictures and animations. The market leader Edgar offers, together with the popular ECards, a range of other features on his website.
It is hard to keep an overview over all these options and offers. But help is supplied, you can activate an interactive guide by clicking the button ‘Hilfe starten’- Help. Immediately, a nice girl appears, who guides you through the page, and explains the page’s most important categories and menu points.
This interactive tutorial is similar to the service the dating website Meetic offers.
The producer’s creativity shows in the complex and funny flash animations, which support the moderation. On some pages, the blond host pops up on the image border, on others she explains the online forms.
The service is more of an entertaining gimmick than an informative help function. The moderation is restricted to sentences like: ‘just click on a motive, on the next page I’ll help you to complete your Ecard,’ but anyway, it gives the customers the feeling to be cared about personally and takes away the anonymity.
